Terms of Reservation.

Last updated · 25 April 2026

A reservation is the start of a conversation, not a contract. These terms set out what each of us can expect of the other once you press “Reserve yours”.

What a reservation is

When you submit the reservation form you are telling us you would like a particular ring — a metal, a size, and (often) a recording you would like us to translate into form. It is an expression of interest. No payment is taken. No binding contract exists until we write back to confirm casting.

A binding contract is formed only when we send you a written confirmation that we will cast your ring at the price quoted, with the metal and size you chose. Until that note arrives, either of us can step away without obligation.

How we will reply, and when

We will write back to the email address you gave us within forty-eight hours. The reply will confirm your size, your chosen metal, and the price you will be charged when casting begins. If anything in your reservation needs gentle correction — a ring size that won’t hold the design, a recording we cannot use — we will explain why, and offer alternatives.

Price and how long it is held

The price quoted at the moment of reservation is honoured for fourteen days from the date of our confirmation. If you have not asked us to begin casting within that window, we may need to re-quote at the prevailing rate; this is rare, and we will always write before doing so. Current prices are £145 for sterling silver, £245 for gold vermeil, and £345 for heavy gold vermeil. Prices are inclusive of UK VAT and Royal Mail Special Delivery within the United Kingdom.

Casting, finishing, and delivery

Once casting is confirmed, please allow four to six weeks. Each ring is cast and hand-finished by artisans in France, then shipped to you from London by Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured against loss in transit. Someone will need to be present to sign for the parcel. If the first delivery attempt is missed, Royal Mail will leave a card and re-attempt or hold the parcel at a local office.

Returns and refunds

If, after holding the ring in your hand, you would rather not keep it, you have thirty days from the day you receive it to return it for a full refund. The piece must come back unworn, in its original box, and you are responsible for the cost of insured return postage. Once we have received and inspected the ring, the refund is issued to the original payment method within five working days.

Because every ring is cast for one specific person from one specific recording, returns are at our discretion in the rare case the piece shows clear signs of wear. We will always be reasonable about this.

When we may decline a reservation

We reserve the right to decline a reservation, or to ask for changes before we begin casting. This applies, for example, where a recording you have shared with us appears to infringe someone else’s rights, depicts someone who has not consented to its use, or is otherwise unlawful. We will always explain our reasoning and refund anything you have paid.

Your recording

You retain every right you already have in any audio you send us. By uploading it you grant us a limited licence to use it for the single purpose of making your ring — nothing else. We do not publish, share, sell, or train any system on your recording. When the ring is finished and shipped, we delete the file.

Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with any reservation is limited to the price you paid for the ring in question. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms, and any contract formed under them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute that we cannot resolve in friendly correspondence will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this paragraph affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Talking to us

The fastest way to reach us about a reservation, a return, or a change of heart is to write to hello@aurafine.co.uk. There is a person on the other end, and they will write back.
